Submission Guidelines

Theme

Mars. The Red Planet. Our celestial neighbor which many scientists contend once could have supported life and with our intervention could yet again. As David Bowie asked while watching those campy sci-fi flicks, "Is there life on Mars?"

The audience for this anthology is all ages, and we are accepting submissions from all ages as well. I hope that we receive submissions from young writers with tales of the future they look forward to seeing in their lifetime.

I will accept any genre including horror, steampunk, post-apoc, weird western, hard sci-fi, space opera, pulp action, campy fantasy, even romance (but not erotica). I do not want mashups or spin-offs of H. G. Wells, Edgar Rice Burroughs, Robert Heinlein, James S. A. Corey, or Andrew Weir, etc. Your story can be in their genres but should be wholly original.

If we truly aspire to colonize Mars and make humanity an interplanetary species, I believe we need new inspirational tales to motivate the next generation and beyond. So tell me, do you have The Write Stuff?

Submission Period

Submissions officially open April 1, 2018 and close on October 1st, 2018.

Word Count

Will accept 2000 to 10,000, but the ideal range is about 5000-7500.

Ownership

We are seeking First Anthology Rights, however, if you wish to send a reprint story, let me know where it was published previously with confirmation that rights have reverted back to you.

Projected Release Date

April 1, 2019 for paperback. Electronic versions may release sooner.

Royalties/Payment

This anthology's goal is to donate all proceeds to the Challenger Center's Martians of Tomorrow STEM education campaign. As such, your submission is a donation to the project and there will be no financial royalties paid to the author. However, authors will be provided an eBook copy (your preferred format) and the opportunity to buy paperbacks at cost through the Publisher.
